At the last session of the city council in Manas, located in the Jalal-Abad region, a decision was made to introduce a new garbage collection fee for students. Each student enrolled in local higher and secondary educational institutions will pay 45 soms per month.
Payment will be made by the educational institutions based on the number of students.
As noted by Baigaza Anarkulov, the head of the "Manas Tazalyk" company, the responsibility for paying for garbage collection has been placed on educational institutions.
“We will sign contracts with each university and college. Whether the payment will be made from student contracts is no longer our concern. The fee will be calculated for each student. Many of them live with relatives or acquaintances and often do not participate in the payment. There are also students who come from neighboring districts and are in the city during the day. Therefore, we decided to charge each of them,” he explained.
The deputies instructed the management of "Manas Tazalyk" to develop procedures so that students living in apartments do not pay twice — at their place of residence and through educational institutions.
In Manas, considering all educational institutions, there are more than 16,000 students studying in full-time programs. More than 6,000 people are studying remotely and will pay for two months.
The "Manas Tazalyk" company serves over 117,000 subscribers and collects about 90 million soms annually for garbage collection.
