The mayor's office of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, has decided to present for public discussion a draft resolution developed by the Cabinet of Ministers. This document concerns the introduction of benefits for public transport fares for pensioners who served in the Armed Forces, as well as in other military formations and state bodies of the country where military service is provided, including law enforcement agencies.
The main task of this resolution is to lay the legal foundations for organizing free travel in municipal transport for both residents of Bishkek and citizens of Osh.
The draft proposes to establish that compensation for the loss of income for carriers resulting from the introduction of benefits will be provided from the republican budget, if the benefits are approved by a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers and the relevant state bodies. In cases where benefits are introduced by decisions of local councils, compensation will be made from the local budget.
