During an event in Kabul dedicated to the 46th anniversary of the Soviet troops' invasion of Afghanistan, Muttaqi noted that a "serious investigation" has been initiated in response to the incident.
He also emphasized that there are "malicious forces" wishing to undermine the relations between Afghanistan and Tajikistan and to present the situation as "unsafe".
“We are in contact with the Tajik Foreign Minister and are working together to prevent similar negative events,” added Muttaqi.
