During a briefing for journalists, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the recent military operation by the United States in Venezuela, during which President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were captured.

Zelensky, with a hint of irony, noted: "What can I say? If dictators can be treated this way, then the U.S. certainly knows how to act next." He did not specify who he was referring to.

Local Ukrainian media interpreted his words as a hint at Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga emphasized that Kyiv does not recognize the legitimacy of Nicolás Maduro's regime, citing election fraud and repression against protesters. "We support the development of events in accordance with international law, paying special attention to democracy, human rights, and the interests of the people of Venezuela," he wrote on the social network X.
