UN Security Council to Hold Emergency Meeting Due to US Operation Against Venezuela

According to the Xinhua agency, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting to discuss the recent military operation by the United States against Venezuela.

This meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 5, and will begin at 15:00 GMT (22:00 Bishkek time). The press secretary of the Permanent Mission of Somalia to the UN, Khadija Ahmed, confirmed this information. This month, Somalia is serving as the chair of the Security Council as part of the monthly rotation.

Last Saturday, the United States conducted an operation in Caracas, during which Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were detained. It was later revealed that Maduro was placed in a federal detention center in Brooklyn.
