Operation 'Absolute Resolve'. Trump addressed the leaders of Cuba, Colombia, and Mexico

He urged the authorities to stop supporting drug cartels

During a press conference dedicated to Operation 'Absolute Resolve', U.S. President Donald Trump made an appeal to the leaders of Cuba, Colombia, and Mexico. He strongly urged them to cease support for drug cartels and to intensify efforts in the fight against drug trafficking and crime.

Yesterday, U.S. military forces conducted a series of airstrikes on both military and civilian infrastructure in Venezuela. A special Delta Force unit also captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, taking them out of the country for legal proceedings in the U.S. on charges of "drug terrorism and drug trafficking." The preparation for the operation, including surveillance of Venezuelan authorities, lasted several months, and all its aspects were carefully concealed from the public.

Many countries condemned the actions of the U.S.

Brazilian President Lula da Silva stated that "the violent overthrow of the Venezuelan leader creates yet another extremely dangerous precedent for the entire international community."
