The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is checking if there are Kyrgyz citizens among the victims of the explosion at the resort in Switzerland.

A tragedy at the ski resort of Crans-Montana occurred on New Year's Eve when an explosion and subsequent fire at the Le Constellation bar claimed the lives of approximately 40 people, and around 100 were injured, many of whom suffered severe burns. Swiss law enforcement does not consider this incident a terrorist act. Preliminary data suggests that the cause of the fire may have been the use of pyrotechnics.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is actively monitoring the situation and maintaining operational contact with the Kyrgyz Embassy in Switzerland to determine if there are any citizens of the country among the deceased or injured. Currently, preliminary information indicates that there are no Kyrgyz nationals among the victims, but investigations are ongoing.

In response to the tragic event, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubaev, expressed his condolences to the head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland, Ignazio Cassis. In his message, he expressed deep sorrow over the losses and extended heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased, as well as wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
