- On February 9, 2026, during a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dealing with agricultural issues, Deputy Erkeaiym Seitkazieva raised the question of the possibility of reopening the livestock market in the Issyk-Ata district.

She noted that the livestock market was previously located in Tokmok, but it was moved to the Kemin district, which is significantly far from the Issyk-Ata district.

In response, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture Bakyt Torobaev stated that the issue could be considered if the necessary infrastructure is provided.

“As for the closure of the market in Tokmok, we provided a year to rectify the violations, but no changes occurred, and ultimately the market was closed,” he explained.

Additionally, Torobaev added that there are 48 livestock markets operating in Kyrgyzstan, and most of them do not meet the established requirements.

This issue was discussed in the context of the draft resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh on preparations for the spring field and economic activities in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2026.
