Zhantaev noted that the implementation of the development program until 2030 will allow for an increase in the level of agricultural product processing from the current 7% to 25%. Among the significant projects, he highlighted the construction of a leather raw material processing plant, which will be built in the Nurmanbet rural district of the Issyk-Ata region. The construction of this plant will begin in 2026, with its opening scheduled for 2027. Investments in the project will exceed 900 million soms.
Additionally, in 2026, the implementation of a modern trade and logistics center for the primary processing of vegetables and fruits will begin in the Sokuluk district. This project will be financed through a Korean grant of 3 million dollars.
Zhantaev also added that in 2026, the commissioning of another 12 agricultural processing enterprises is planned. He emphasized that the implementation of these initiatives will allow farmers to increase export opportunities, raise incomes, and improve the living standards of the local population.
It was also reported separately that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic has received permission to sell Kyrgyz honey in the European Union countries, which is also a significant achievement.
