All reclamation work at uranium sites in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan under the CIS intergovernmental program has been completed

- On February 18, 2026, a meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the Economic Council of the CIS took place in Moscow.

During the meeting, participants discussed important aspects of economic cooperation among CIS countries, including the results of the implementation of the Intergovernmental Target Program "Reclamation of Territories of States Affected by Uranium Mining Activities".

Representatives of the CIS Executive Committee reported that "all planned reclamation work in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan has been completed, target indicators have been fully achieved, threats to public health and the environment in these regions have been eliminated, and radiation levels have been reduced to normal values."

A report on the progress of the program will be submitted for consideration by the Economic Council and the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS.

In Kyrgyzstan, reclamation and relocation of uranium tailings were carried out in the following areas: Min-Kush, Kadji-Sai, Tuyuk-Suu, Taldy-Bulak, Dalnee.
