- On February 24, 2026, during a meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dealing with industrial policy, Deputy Mederbek Sakkaraev raised an important issue regarding tariff policy and electricity price forecasts until 2030.

Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev reported that starting from May 1, 2026, electricity tariffs will be set at 1.64 soms per kWh, with a projected increase to 3.40 soms per kWh by 2030.

Also, starting from May 1 of this year, a night tariff will be introduced for commercial consumers, which will be 25% lower than the daytime rate.

The Minister emphasized that the need for a phased increase in tariffs is related to rising costs for electricity imports, as well as the necessity to modernize infrastructure and build new generation facilities, such as the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 and other projects utilizing renewable energy sources.

During the meeting, information was presented about the current activities of the Ministry of Energy and plans for further development of the sector.
