He noted that local farmers are facing a clear shortage of water for irrigating their lands. According to the deputy, this problem has existed for many years, and he suggested considering the possibility of constructing a dam reservoir, as well as a large agricultural reservoir or a full-fledged water storage facility.
This topic was discussed in the context of considering the candidacy of Erlis Akunbekov for the position of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Ulan Bakasov urged the government and the Ministry of Water Resources to expedite the design and funding process for the reservoir so that farmers could successfully carry out spring fieldwork and increase yields.
