PM2.5 refers to particles smaller than 2.5 microns, which is 30 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. They are a mixture of dust, ash, soot, and other substances present in the air. These components lead to a deterioration in air quality, especially in large cities.
On the international air quality scale, Bishkek ranks 38th (as of 5:00 PM) on March 22.
