As reported by Kaktus.media, the information that the Orozо fast begins on February 18 is incorrect. This statement was made by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.

Starting on the evening of February 17, rumors began to spread on social media and messaging apps about the fast starting a day earlier than indicated in the decision of the Fatwa Council of the Muftiyats of the Organization of Turkic States.

The press service of the SAMK clarified that according to astronomical calculations, February 18, 2026, will be the thirtieth day of the month of Shaaban, and the first day of the month of Ramadan is expected to be on February 19.

Additionally, the muftiyat noted that many Muslim countries, such as Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Indonesia, Brunei, Oman, Singapore, and Malaysia, have also declared February 19 as the first day of the fast.

Countries such as Japan, Australia, and South Korea have made similar statements.
