The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan has announced that the month of Ramadan (Orozo ayi) in 2026 will begin on February 19. This will be the first day of fasting.
The decision was made by the fatwa council during a meeting held in Samarkand (Uzbekistan) with the participation of muftis from the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States.
According to information from DUMK, on the night of February 18, the first tarawih prayer will take place in all mosques across the country, which traditionally precedes the start of the holy month.
The muftiate calls on believers to prepare in advance for fasting and to observe religious prescriptions.
