Mayor's Optimization. Buses are planned to be removed from the center of Bishkek

Residents will be left with secondary streets

As part of the measures for optimization and combating traffic jams, the Bishkek city hall plans to reduce the number of bus routes in the central part of the city. These changes are scheduled for the summer period.

The municipal authorities note that there are currently more than 14 routes operating on Baytik Baatyr Street, although the optimal number should not exceed 10. This creates additional congestion on the roads.

In exchange, the city authorities intend to redirect buses to less busy secondary streets.

Additionally, the routes will become shorter, which will negatively affect accessibility for residents and guests, for example, to the car market and other remote locations.

According to a city hall representative, such measures are aimed at improving convenience for passengers, as long routes allowed buses to make only 3-4 trips a day.

As for the increase in fare rates, a decision on this issue has not yet been made, and hourly payment is still under development.
