In 2023, new quotas were established for the duty-free import of electric vehicles
According to the new plan, in Kyrgyzstan, from 2023 to 2025, the annual quota for the duty-free import of electric vehicles will be up to 10 thousand units, but by 2026 this figure will rise to 15 thousand. This information was presented at a seminar dedicated to the national strategy for electromobility, which took place in Bishkek.
At the event, experts provided information on the trends in the growth of the electric vehicle market in the country.
The quotas for duty-free import of electric vehicles were approved in 2023 in accordance with the norms of the EAEU.
If in 2022 there were approximately 5 thousand electric vehicles in Kyrgyzstan, then in the following three years, an annual duty-free import of up to 10 thousand units is planned. It is expected that by 2026, the quota for the duty-free import of electric vehicles will increase to 15 thousand.
At the same time, the charging infrastructure is actively developing.
Currently, there are more than 230 charging stations operating in the country, of which about 60 are located in the capital.
