The president stated that he has not received any applications for pardon.
In a recent interview with the "Kabar" agency, President Sadyr Japarov answered questions about the situation with poet Askhat Zhetigen, who is currently in prison.
According to the head of state, he does not have the authority to independently choose whom to pardon.
“My decisions are based on the applications received for pardon. If a person has not submitted a request, how can I free him? If he decides to make a request, we are ready to consider it,” noted Sadyr Japarov.
