The deputy reported that vaccination is not yielding the expected results, and the situation with animal diseases is severe.
At a meeting of the Committee on Agricultural Policy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Tabyldy Muratbekov raised the issue of livestock disease with foot-and-mouth disease, which residents from various regions have brought to his attention.
He noted that animals are showing symptoms: high fever and lack of appetite, which in some cases ends in death.
In response, Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Mirbek Duyshiev assured that the epizootic situation is under control.
According to him, over the past two years, nine types of vaccines have been procured in advance, six months ahead of time, and there have been no issues with vaccination. He also mentioned that officially, there have been no recorded cases of foot-and-mouth disease in the country.
However, Muratbekov disagrees with this.
“You are either mistaken or not aware of the situation. Citizens engaged in livestock farming report problems: their animals cannot eat grass, they have high temperatures. The situation with foot-and-mouth disease is indeed critical. Vaccination is conducted once a year; however, according to the people, it does not yield the desired results,” he emphasizes.
