Bishkek Again in the Top 5 Most Polluted Cities in the World for Air Quality

According to international air quality monitoring data, Bishkek has once again found itself among the five most polluted megacities in the world. In the current ranking, the capital of Kyrgyzstan occupies the 4th place with an air quality index (AQI) of 236, which is classified as "very harmful to health."

At the moment, the list of cities with the worst air quality is as follows:
Cairo (Egypt) — AQI 369.
Delhi (India) — AQI 256.
Lahore (Pakistan) — AQI 254.
Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) — AQI 236.
Dhaka (Bangladesh) — AQI 213.

Experts emphasize that such a level of pollution can pose a significant health risk to citizens, especially for children, the elderly, and those suffering from chronic respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.

In this regard, residents of the city are strongly advised to minimize the time spent outdoors and to use protective masks when necessary.
