According to the mayor's office, this event was organized as part of the presidential decree titled "Ulуттук дем – дүйнөлүк бийиктик – оңгу жол" ("National spirit – global height – main path"). The aim of these events was to promote active and healthy recreation for citizens during the New Year holidays, and the slogan of the event was "New Year – the path of the nation, the right path, and healthy recreation." The marathon started on January 6 at 09:00.
Participants, mostly youth, ran along the main street of Uzgen, encouraging local residents to lead a healthy lifestyle.
In addition to the marathon, volleyball and table tennis competitions were organized for the city's residents, and prizes were awarded to the winners.
