A member of the Jogorku Kenesh claims that animal carcasses are being dumped into water bodies.
During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee dedicated to agricultural policy, ecology, and environmental protection, Santalat Amanova raised the issue of the overflowing Bekkari pit in Osh, where people leave animal carcasses in various places, including water bodies.
Addressing the Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, she requested that this problem be resolved. In response, he noted that in case of overflow, the pit should be isolated and a new one dug, but no specific solutions were proposed.
The Director of the Veterinary Service for Animal Husbandry, Pastures, and Feed, Adilet Sotovaldiyev, reported that Kyrgyzstan plans to abandon Bekkari pits in favor of crematoria.
He noted that four crematoria have already been established in the Issyk-Kul region with development funds, as well as a large crematorium in the Kara-Suu district. However, the veterinary service director did not provide information on when a crematorium would be acquired for Osh.
