Record influx of visitors at the ski base
On January 2, more than 4,000 vehicles arrived at the ski base in Karakol, according to information from the State Traffic Safety Department.
The next day, January 3, the number of vehicles remained equally high, causing traffic jams on the approaches to the base.
Social media users report a significant crowd of people both on the ski slopes and at the base itself.
Witnesses also indicate that popular recreation areas around Bishkek are overcrowded with vacationers.
It is worth noting that long weekends are currently ongoing in Kyrgyzstan from January 1 to January 11 inclusive.
