The repair of the highway has been ongoing for 4 years
Kamchybek Tashiev, head of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), has ordered the detention of the founder of the company OsOO "Kyrgyz Zhol Kurolysh". This was reported by the Region television channel.
This decision is related to the expensive repair of the Balykchy-Barskoon road, which began in 2021 but has still not been completed.
Tashiev's team announced the directives during a meeting held as part of his working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, where the construction of the highway was discussed.
All those responsible for the project and the contractors were given a stern warning about the necessity of completing the work.
"The cost of the work has increased from $798,000 to $1.3-1.4 million. The work has not been completed on time! There are clear problems with organization. The oversight from the state supervision also leaves much to be desired. I have taken this project under personal control. If you do not complete it on time and to a high standard, the consequences will be serious," emphasized the head of the GKNB.
