Abdulaziz Qari Zakirov, the Mufti of Kyrgyzstan, issued a statement condemning speculation and unjustified price increases on essential goods. He emphasized that such actions contradict the norms of Sharia.

In his address, timed for Friday and the beginning of the sacred months of Rajab, Shaaban, and Ramadan, the Mufti pointed out that some traders, taking advantage of the difficult economic situation, are inflating prices to profit from people's needs.

“The pursuit of excessive profit, sharp price increases, and market monopolization are actions that are displeasing to the Almighty,” noted the head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, reminding of the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad that condemn speculation and monopoly.

According to Abdulaziz Qari Zakirov, Islam allows for trade and profit, but only within the framework of honesty, fairness, and responsibility to society. He added that if price increases are driven not by objective factors but by the greed of sellers, then the state should intervene and regulate the situation.

The Mufti also emphasized the social consequences of sharp price increases on goods, such as heightened inequality, worsening conditions for the poor, and rising public discontent. He reminded that speculation and artificial price inflation are sins, especially concerning food products.

In conclusion, Abdulaziz Qari Zakirov urged traders to fear Allah, maintain moderation in profit, and citizens to be economical, avoiding wastefulness and supporting moderation in spending, especially in times of rising prices.
