Vladimir Zelensky imposed sanctions against the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree imposing sanctions against Alexander Lukashenko, the head of Belarus.

The document, published on the website of the President's Office, states: “To implement the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated February 18, 2026, ‘On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures’ (attached).”

According to the decree, the measures include a ban on entry into the country, asset blocking and restrictions on their disposal, as well as a ban on the purchase of land plots and the entry of military vessels and aircraft.

Some of the imposed sanctions will be in effect for 10 years, while others are indefinite.

The reason for these measures, Zelensky cited, is Belarus's support for Russia in conducting military operations.
