The press service of the State Penitentiary Service (GSIN) has denied information that the criminal authority Mursalym Umyrzakov, better known by the nickname "Karyshkyr," died in a correctional facility.

In the agency, it was emphasized that he continues to serve his sentence in places of deprivation of liberty.

Recently, rumors about his death emerged, causing serious concern among the public.

Mursalym Umyrzakov was born on April 6, 1975, in the village of Sary-Tologoy, located in the Tyup district of the Issyk-Kul region. He has been repeatedly detained and prosecuted for various crimes, including contract killing.

Chronicle of the Criminal Case

While serving his sentence in prison, Daniyar [name changed, K.D., born in 1993] met Gula [name changed, A.G., born in 1971]. Despite the age difference, a romantic relationship developed between them, and they actively communicated with each other through letters and phone calls. Daniyar already had previous convictions, but this did not stop Gula from continuing the relationship. After his release, Daniyar moved in with Gula.

Over time, a quarrel occurred between the couple. Offended, Gula sought help from her son Mirbek [name changed, K.M., born in 2001], informing him that Daniyar owed her money.

The family was aware that Daniyar always carried a knife and had a criminal past, which caused them fear. As a result, Gula and Mirbek turned to the leader of one of the organized crime groups known as "Karyshkyr." According to the investigation, she ordered the murder of Daniyar.

On the night of April 24, 2022, Daniyar was on one of the streets of Bishkek. Around 11:30 PM, a Kia car approached him, driven by Mirbek's friend [A.A. — the driver]. Other people were in the vehicle who, according to the investigative authorities, forcibly put Daniyar in the car, beat him, and then dumped his body at a cemetery in the village of Arashan in the Alamudun district. He died from the injuries sustained.

On the morning of April 25, local residents discovered the corpse and immediately reported it to the police.

In May, employees of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui region and the Alamudun District Internal Affairs Department detained suspects, including "Karyshkyr" himself. The police continued searching for other participants in the crime and on May 30 detained two more suspects, who were also listed as members of the organized crime group.

On June 20, 2023, Umırzakov Mursalym Uzakovich was found guilty of several articles of the criminal code, including Article 261 ("Creation of an organized group or participation in it"), Article 165 ("Kidnapping"), Article 208 ("Extortion"), Article 122 ("Murder"), and was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, serving his sentence in a strict regime correctional colony.
