In the Issyk-Kul region, within the framework of the "Arsenal" event, local law enforcement agencies conducted a large-scale inspection, during which a significant number of firearms were seized. This was reported by the regional department of internal affairs.
According to information from the police, in January 2026, 28 facilities with permits and 1,547 hunters were checked. As a result of this operation, 54 administrative protocols were drawn up, and fines totaling 147,000 soms were imposed.
During the raid, 25 firearms were seized for violations of regulations, as well as 16 units in connection with criminal investigations. Additionally, 31 firearms were voluntarily surrendered by citizens.
During the operation, eight crimes were solved, and two cases of environmental violations were identified.
To ensure the safety of the population, joint activities were carried out with relevant services to cull dangerous wild animals, resulting in the elimination of 18 wolves and 23 stray dogs.
The police noted that meetings are being held with local residents in rural areas to discuss issues of safety, compliance with legislation, and environmental protection.
