Tashmatov is suspected of corrupt activities, which are classified under Article 336, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
He is currently in pre-trial detention until April 15.
A video previously appeared in the Kyrgyz segment of social networks, showing photographs of athletes, employees of the State National Security Committee (GKNB), businessmen, and law enforcement representatives. The authors of the video linked these individuals to the so-called "40 choro" — a group led by Eldar Jakypbekov, the former head of the GKNB in Bishkek. Tashmatov was among the mentioned figures.

Another video featuring Tashmatov also appeared on WhatsApp, in which he pays tribute to the late "thief in law" Kamchy Kolbaev, who was eliminated by the GKNB in October 2023.
