According to information provided by the regional road safety department, almost all accidents were caused by vehicles being equipped with summer tires. In this regard, inspectors strongly recommend that drivers switch to winter tires.
“On January 22, snow fell in the region, leading to the formation of a slippery surface. In just one night, inspectors recorded four traffic accidents in which seven people sustained injuries of varying severity. We urge drivers: be attentive to your safety — change your tires and, if not necessary, avoid long trips,” the agency reported.
In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations warned of possible adverse weather conditions. From January 21 to 24, precipitation is expected in the mountainous areas of the country, which may lead to snow avalanches, the formation of snow drifts, as well as icy conditions and freezing on the roads.
