Drivers are warned about strict control measures in mountainous areas during the autumn-winter period, according to information provided by the Ministry of Transport.
The agency reported that checks on vehicles have already begun at the checkpoints "Sosnovka" and "Kara-Kol".
Vehicles not equipped with winter tires and anti-skid chains will not be allowed to pass through the specified posts.
The Ministry reminds drivers of the necessity to replace summer tires with winter ones before heading to mountainous areas, as well as the mandatory presence of anti-ice chains to ensure road safety.
Furthermore, the ministry urges adherence to rules of conduct in mountain passes, such as avoiding crossing into oncoming traffic, refraining from obstructing snow removal equipment, and maintaining a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
The road maintenance enterprises under the ministry are continuously monitoring road conditions and are ready to respond promptly to any changes in the situation on the passes and roads.
