The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan has refuted the information voiced by a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, stating that citizens of Kazakhstan were not informed about the new rules for staying in the country.
According to the agency's data, active informational and explanatory work was conducted prior to the changes coming into effect. This involved the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security, and the Ministry of Digital Development. This information was disseminated through official websites, social networks, and various media outlets.

Official announcements about the new rules for staying were published starting in the spring of 2025, and this information continues to be updated to this day.
On December 4, 2025, an on-site briefing by the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security took place at the "Ak-Zhol-automobile" checkpoint. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Department of Population Registration. Press releases were also sent to the media in Kazakhstan.

Explanatory work is carried out continuously. For instance, on January 13, 2026, information about the current rules for the stay of citizens of Kazakhstan was presented on "Birinchi Radio".

At all checkpoints located on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, reference information is available. Video materials are displayed in the passport control halls, and Border Service employees inform citizens of Kazakhstan about the duration and conditions of their stay.

The agency also emphasized that individuals traveling abroad bear personal responsibility for complying with the migration norms of the country they are heading to.
The Border Service reminded that the measures taken are mutual and not unilateral, considering the restrictions imposed in the Republic of Kazakhstan since September 1 for citizens of Kyrgyzstan. These measures are aimed at ensuring the principle of reciprocity and comply with international practice.
