In accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated October 10, 2023, the Border Service of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic informs about the new procedure for the stay of foreign citizens on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The updated rules for citizens of Kazakhstan will come into effect on September 1, 2025.

The main changes include:

From the specified date, citizens of Kazakhstan will be able to stay in Kyrgyzstan for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, starting from the date of their first entry.

This practice is widely used in international migration policy to regulate entry and exit.

With each border crossing, the days of stay are not reset but accumulated. A new count begins only after a continuous stay of 90 days outside Kyrgyzstan.

During the first 30 days of stay, citizens of Kazakhstan are not required to register. If they plan to stay longer, registration becomes mandatory.

If a citizen of Kazakhstan stays in Kyrgyzstan for more than 90 days without registration, they will be prohibited from re-entering the country for 90 days.

To extend their legal stay in the Kyrgyz Republic, the following documents must be provided:

The Border Service emphasized that similar rules apply to citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Kazakhstan.
