According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Georgia is introducing new mandatory conditions for foreign citizens planning to enter the country. Starting from January 1, 2026, all arrivals must have a valid health insurance policy and accident insurance for the entire duration of their stay in the country.

This requirement has been established in connection with Georgian legislation in the field of tourism and applies to all trips, including tourist, business, and private visits. The policy can be obtained from both Georgian and foreign insurance companies, and it must be presented in paper or electronic form in Georgian or English.

The minimum amount of insurance coverage must be at least 30,000 Georgian Lari (GEL). The policy must contain information about the parties to the contract, the place of action, insurance conditions, validity periods, risks, compensation amounts, the size of the insurance premium, and payment conditions.

The Ministry strongly recommends that citizens of Kyrgyzstan planning to travel to Georgia familiarize themselves with the new entry rules in advance, take into account possible additional requirements from carriers and border services, and arrange for health insurance before the trip. It is advisable to have documents in paper form, as they may be required during border control.

The agency also reminds of the importance of complying with migration rules, including having a valid foreign passport, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation booking. It is important to note that this information is explanatory and does not guarantee automatic entry into Georgia.
