According to information from the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, starting from January 22, 2026, customs duty exemptions for electric vehicles will be introduced in the country.

These measures were adopted in accordance with the decision of the Eurasian Economic Commission, made on December 5, 2025. The exemptions will apply to both fully electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles with a sequential electric drive.

Additionally, from the specified date, changes will occur in the commodity nomenclature of foreign economic activity related to transportation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Representatives of the State Customs Service noted that the tariff exemptions will take effect not from January 1, but specifically from January 22, 2026. Participants in foreign economic activity are advised to take this deadline into account when planning their shipments.
