Two government officials have been detained in Osh — one currently in office and the other a former official — on suspicion of abuse of power. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, as a result of the illegal actions of these employees, a land plot of 8,000 square meters, intended for social needs, ended up in private ownership. In this regard, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 337 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, which pertains to abuse of official position.
It is worth noting that this land area was valued by the independent organization "Land Reforms South" at 200 million soms and has already been returned to the balance of the city management of municipal property of the Osh mayor's office.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs added that investigative actions are ongoing, and at present, other individuals who may be involved in this crime are being identified.
