In the city of Osh, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have detained several civil servants, both current and former, on suspicion of official misconduct.
According to the agency, it became known that a land plot of 8,000 square meters, intended for social needs, was illegally removed from municipal ownership and transferred to private hands.
Based on the collected materials, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 337 (Abuse of Official Position) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Currently, operational investigative actions are being conducted.
During the operational activities carried out by the Main Department of Criminal Investigation of the MIA in cooperation with the Investigative Service of the Osh City Department of Internal Affairs, the following individuals were identified and detained:
Sh.K., Deputy Director of the Osh Branch of the State Agency for Land Resources, Cadastre, Geodesy, and Cartography under the Ministry of Agriculture, born in 1978;
S.A., former head of the Municipal Property Department of the Osh Mayor's Office, born in 1968.
The court has chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention for the detainees.
According to estimates by the independent organization "Land Reforms South," the value of this land plot is 200 million soms. This plot has been returned to the management of municipal property of the Osh Mayor's Office.
Investigative activities are ongoing, and law enforcement agencies are working to identify other possible participants in this crime.
