Starting from January 1, new rules for foreign citizens planning to visit Georgia have come into effect. According to information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, all arrivals are required to have a valid health and accident insurance policy for the entire duration of their stay in Georgia.
These requirements were introduced in accordance with Georgian legislation concerning tourism activities and apply to various types of trips, including tourist, business, and private visits.
The insurance policy can be obtained from both local and international insurance companies. It must be presented in either paper or electronic format, and the language must be Georgian or English.
The minimum amount of insurance coverage must be at least 30,000 lari. The policy should contain information such as the details of the parties to the contract, the validity period, the territory of coverage, insurance risks, the amount of compensation, payment conditions and location, as well as the amount of the insurance premium.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly recommends that citizens of Kyrgyzstan familiarize themselves with these new requirements before traveling to Georgia and arrange for health insurance in advance. It is also advisable to have documents in paper form for easier passage through border control.
Additionally, it is important to remember the migration rules, which include requirements for having a valid foreign passport, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation booking.
