The Cabinet of Ministers has approved new rules regarding the conformity assessment of vehicles imported from third countries.

This document was adopted in accordance with the decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission, which took place on May 23, 2025 (number 45), and establishes requirements for vehicles imported by both legal entities and individuals registered as individual entrepreneurs.
According to the new rules, vehicles manufactured no earlier than three years ago are subject to conformity assessment.
These procedures can only be carried out by accredited laboratories and bodies that are included in the national register of conformity assessment bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union. Their responsibilities also include issuing conclusions for rare vehicles and certificates of design safety.

It is important to note that vehicles and chassis that have undergone assessment in accordance with the new rules can only be used, sold, and registered within the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The State Center for Vehicle and Driver Registration will be tasked with marking such vehicles during registration with a special note: "Operation of the vehicle is permitted only within the territory of the KR."
These rules will come into effect ten days after their official adoption.
