According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, starting from 2026, all foreigners planning trips to Georgia will be required to have a valid medical insurance policy, as well as accident insurance, valid for the entire duration of their stay in the country.
These measures have been introduced in accordance with Georgian legislation in the field of tourism and apply to trips for various purposes, including tourism, business visits, and private trips.
Insurance can be obtained from both Georgian and foreign insurance companies, and the policy must be provided in paper or electronic format in Georgian or English. The minimum amount of insurance coverage will be no less than 30,000 Georgian Lari (GEL).
It is important that the policy contains key information, including the details of the parties to the contract, the territory of coverage, the subject of insurance, the validity period, risks, the amount of insurance compensation, and payment conditions.
The Ministry strongly recommends that citizens of Kyrgyzstan planning to travel to Georgia familiarize themselves with the new requirements in advance, consider possible additional conditions from carriers and border guards, and arrange for insurance before departure. It is advisable to have documents in paper form, as they may be required when crossing the border.
In addition, the ministry reminds of the importance of complying with migration legislation, including having a valid foreign passport, a return ticket, proof of accommodation booking, and an insurance policy.
It should be noted that this information is for informational purposes only and does not guarantee automatic entry into Georgia.
