The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the entry into force of the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 855 dated December 31, 2025, which amends the rules for the stay of foreign citizens in the country.
According to the department, this decision is aimed at optimizing migration processes, improving the transparency of conditions for foreign citizens, as well as aligning national legislation with the state migration policy.
Under the updated rules, citizens from a number of countries can now stay in Kyrgyzstan without a visa, without the need to obtain documents confirming the right to stay, for 30 days in each 60-day period from the date of entry.
After this period, foreigners must either leave the country or obtain the necessary permits, such as a visa, residence permit, or temporary stay permit, in accordance with the legislation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that these changes do not affect the conditions provided for by international treaties and agreements, nor do they apply to individuals who come to Kyrgyzstan for work, study, or other activities requiring special permits.
Foreign citizens and hosting parties are advised to take the new rules into account when planning trips and to strictly adhere to the established stay periods.
