Starting from January 21, 2026, citizens of Kyrgyzstan who plan to apply for non-immigrant B-1/B-2 visas to the USA will be required to pay a refundable deposit ranging from $5,000 to $15,000. This information is contained in an official document posted on the website of the U.S. Department of State.
It should be noted that the deposit can only be made through a system managed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The consular officer will provide a payment link after the interview.
It is important to understand that paying the deposit does not guarantee the issuance of a visa.
Additionally, individuals who receive a visa with the deposit will only be able to enter and exit the USA through three airports: Logan in Boston, John F. Kennedy in New York, and Dulles in Washington, D.C.
We remind you that the visa deposit program was implemented by the U.S. Department of State on a trial basis in August 2025, initially covering citizens of Malawi and Zambia. Starting January 1, 2026, similar requirements will apply to citizens of Turkmenistan, and from January 21, 2026, to citizens of Tajikistan. This decision was made in response to frequent violations of stay durations under B-1/B-2 visas.
