On January 3rd, camel races were held in the Sayhandulaan sum, located in the Dornogov' aimag, covering various age categories. This information was published by the Montsame news agency.
The competition was organized with the support of the sum administration, the Citizens' Representative Khural, and the regional federation of camel breeders.
More than 20 camel breeders from aimags such as Dornogov', Umnugov', Dundgov', Bayankhongor, Govi-Altai, and Uvurkhangai participated in the event.
In the male race, the first camel to cross the finish line belonged to Usukhbayar from the Bayandalai sum in the Umnugov' aimag. The second and third places were taken by camels owned by Kh. Orgil-erdene and L. Munguntsogt from the Tsogt-Ovoo sum (Umnugov').
Dornogov' is one of the leading aimags in the country in terms of camel population, with over 50,000 individuals. The Sayhandulaan sum, which houses more than 6,000 camels, is among the top five in terms of the number of these animals in the aimag.
