In the Khangjit-Bage area, located in the Tes somon of Uvs aimag, Mongolian border guards detained a brown bear that crossed the border from the Russian side. The animal was handed over to the Administration for the Protection of the Specially Protected Area of Khan-Khentii.

After extensive searches lasting more than 20 days, the team assigned to catch the bear managed to lure it into a trap set in the Tooromt area of the Tes somon. During this time, a veterinarian was involved in anesthesia, conducting tests, and collecting necessary data on the animal's condition.

After that, the brown bear was transported to the Administration for the Protection of the Specially Protected Area of Khan-Khentii, where it will spend the winter and be released into the wild at an appropriate time, expected in the spring of 2026.
