- Russia has proposed to establish a zero import customs duty on the import of fiber-forming polyethylene terephthalate within the EAEU, with a validity period lasting until the end of March 2027. This information was published on the website of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

In this case, it concerns position 3907 69 000 1 of the EAEU Customs Tariff, which covers polyethylene terephthalate intended for the production of technical threads.

According to the information in the message, this customs and tariff regulation measure is aimed at eliminating the shortage of these goods in the EAEU territory. It also aims to reduce the cost of production of products using these goods (such as polyester technical threads, cord fabric impregnated with polyester, geogrid, etc.). As a result, it is expected to improve competitiveness and increase the market share of EAEU member goods both in domestic and foreign markets.
