Recently, the countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union signed a protocol that amends the agreement concerning the unified principles and rules for the circulation of medical devices, including medical equipment. This was announced in a statement from the Eurasian Economic Commission.

According to the new document, the transitional period related to the registration of medical devices based on national regulations has been extended.

This extension, provided for in the protocol, will allow the EAEU member states to improve their registration systems and prepare for the implementation of a unified registration of medical devices within the union.

According to the EEC, the protocol will come into effect ten days after its signing and will be enforced from the moment the commission receives the last notification of the completion of all necessary domestic procedures by the EAEU member states.
