EEC: Over 10 years, Kyrgyzstan has achieved impressive economic results

The Republic stands out among the EAEU countries in terms of GDP and industrial growth rates

Daniyar Imanaliev, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission, noted that Kyrgyzstan, having joined the EAEU ten years ago, has achieved impressive results, becoming a leader among the union countries in GDP growth and industrial production volumes. He shared this information in an interview with "Sputnik Kyrgyzstan" in connection with the anniversary of the republic's membership in the union.

Imanaliev provided data indicating that mutual trade between Kyrgyzstan and EAEU countries has increased from 200 billion rubles in 2015 to 440 billion rubles today.

As of the end of the first nine months of 2025, the republic's GDP growth reached 10%, the highest figure among the union countries. Industrial production increased by almost 10% (while the average figure for the EAEU is 1.3%), investments in fixed capital grew by 19%, and retail trade increased by 24%. Exports of goods to EAEU countries quadrupled, rising from 32.8 billion rubles to 136 billion rubles. Approximately 78% of textiles and up to 60% of food products from Kyrgyzstan are supplied to the markets of the union countries.

A striking example of success, the minister noted, is the export of fresh-frozen fish, which has increased from 560 thousand rubles in 2015 to 784 million rubles currently. Additionally, the republic has begun supplying new products to the union, such as ceramic tiles, computing equipment, and air conditioners.

Imanaliev also reported that the integration measures taken in 2021–2024 have brought the EAEU countries a total economic effect of approximately 3.44 trillion rubles. He emphasized that producers gained access to a common market with 188 million consumers, and joint actions by governments allowed for a quick response to economic challenges, such as inflation, by reducing or eliminating tariffs on key goods. The minister also discussed the expansion of the EAEU's external relations, including the preparation of free trade agreements with Indonesia, Mongolia, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as cooperation with observers such as Uzbekistan, Cuba, and Iran.
