In accordance with the legislation, elections must be supported by information, which includes informing citizens, organizing election campaigning, and facilitating the free and informed expression of voters' will, as well as the transparency of the voting process. Thus, to participate in the campaign, media and online publications are required to undergo accreditation with the Central Election Commission (CEC).
The CEC reminded that the fees for airtime or print space must be uniform for all candidates and parties and cannot exceed the rates that were in effect six months prior to the announcement of the elections.
Media organizations wishing to participate in the election campaign must submit the following documents to the CEC by January 11, 2026 (inclusive):
- a notification of intent to participate in the campaign, indicating the full name of the head and the contact information of the editorial office;
- a copy of the media registration certificate from the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic;
- a copy of the state registration certificate of a legal entity or the registration certificate of an individual entrepreneur (for online publications);
- a copy of the permits for conducting activities issued by authorized bodies in the field of information;
- a copy of the charter (if available);
- certified information about the size and conditions of payment for airtime, print space, or publications in the online edition.
In addition, all specified documents must be sent in electronic form to the email address of the information sector of the CEC of the Kyrgyz Republic: [email protected].
