According to new information, the mandatory presence of a medical insurance policy and accident insurance is stipulated by the legislation of Georgia in the field of tourism and applies to all trips: tourist, business, and private.
The insurance can be obtained from both Georgian and foreign insurance companies and must be provided in paper or electronic form in Georgian or English.
At the same time, the minimum amount of insurance coverage must be at least 30,000 Georgian lari (GEL). The policy must contain the following key details:
— parties to the contract;
— territory of validity;
— subject of insurance;
— start and end dates of validity;
— risks covered by the insurance;
— amount of compensation;
— amount of the insurance premium;
— place and conditions of payment.
In light of the new rules, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan strongly recommends that citizens planning trips to Georgia familiarize themselves in advance with the established requirements, as well as consider possible additional conditions that may be imposed by carriers and border services. It is best to arrange medical insurance before the trip begins and to have a paper copy with you, as this document may be required when passing through border control.
Furthermore, the Ministry emphasizes the importance of complying with migration legislation, including having a valid foreign passport, a return ticket, and proof of accommodation booking.
