Deputy Karim Khandzheza proposes to create dormitories for foreign students

At a recent meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with constitutional legislation and local self-government, Karim Khandzheza addressed the acting Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations Gulzat Ismatova with a request to organize conditions for students from India, Pakistan, and China studying in Kyrgyzstan.

He suggested, in particular, considering the possibility of building dormitories for these students. The deputy emphasized that the export of educational services could be profitable and urged the minister to intensify work in this direction.

In response, Gulzat Ismatova noted that the problems with dormitories also affect Kyrgyz citizens, as only 30% of students can secure a place in them.

“We are working on a PPP project that will improve the condition of existing dormitories and increase the number of places in them,” Ismatova said.
